Dr Fathima Rushda Najumudeen the executive Chef and founder of SL institute of confectionery and culinary arts acclaims as a Sri Lankan Peace Ambassador to spread the objectives of UNSDG in education and is a top educationist who works as an educator, lecturing and coaching at various institutions offering education and liaisons to the world of hospitality education.Dr Rushda began her career as Teacher of English which later persuaded her to specialize in hospitality management.
With successful completion of 15 years of culinary excellence, She continues to the sustain as market leader in providing premium culinary education in Sri Lanka .
Dr Rushda received her Deshamaniya title which is the second highest national rank was awarded for her long time service in Education and free training programmes hosted on behalf of Home bakers Association of Sri Lanka as a founder president.
She is the Founder Director of Sri Lanka Institute of Confectionery and Culinary art (www.slicca.lk) (formerly known as Finest Bakes Institute), her expertise have helped her create over 15000 students culinary graduates upto date . she also founded the Home Bakers Association of Sri Lanka, bring opportunities for local home bakers to established bakers and also Sri Lanka Cake Awards and Asia Cake Oscar recognitions talents of cake artists at home and across the globe .
Dr. Rushda completed her Ph.D in Tourism and Hospitality Management in 2021, and mastered the art of confectionery skills in England, Malaysia, Dubai, and India .
Dr Rushda is also a certified hypnotherapist, who coaches students in Masters in Nutrition and culinary awarded by the American academy of project management.
She serves as the senior coordinator of the Fintech Association of Sri Lanka and is an Honorary member. She is involved in hosting workshops on modules approved by the University of Hong Kong to her students.
With the helm of her leadership she coaches students to compete in the national level competition organized by chef guild of Sri Lanka - and students won 17 prestigious medals in CAFE 2025.
Team SLICCA has secured another 12 medals ranking 4th place in the southern culinary challenge, bring the count of 29 Medals in less than one year under her leadership
